Most manufacturers recommend an annual inspection and cleaning. In Florida the best time is early fall, before the first cool front.
Check that the gas supply is on, the remote or wall switch has fresh batteries, and the pilot is lit if your unit has one. If it still will not light, call us. Do not keep trying if you smell gas.
